Meghan Trainor has capped off a breakout 2014 with some of her biggest milestones to date. The inescapable smash single that introduced the pop star to the world, “All About The Bass,” received 2015 Grammy Award nominations in the top categories of “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year.” Moreover, the RIAA has officially certified the single 5X-platinum. Google named her one of its “Top Ten Trending Artists of 2015,” and she garnered an American Music Awards nomination for “Best New Artist,” a LOGO NewNextNow Award nomination for “Best New Artist (Female) and two People’s Choice Awards nominations for “Favorite Breakout Artist” and “Favorite Song.” “All About That Bass” spent a record-breaking eight weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the video has been seen over 400,000,000 times and counting. Still, her career continues to heat up rapidly as she undeniably soars towards worldwide superstardom.
Following these successes, her latest single “Lips Are Movin” vaulted from #8 to #4 this week on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart. This makes for her second single to land in the Top 5 of the respective chart. Moreover, it currently holds strong in the Top 15 of Top 40 radio in addition to reaching RIAA platinum status for digital sales. The video has received nearly 47 million views in just 4 weeks. She also recently went on the season finale of NBC’s The Voice to perform this latest hit.
Given the palpable and unanimous excitement amongst fans, all of the dates for Meghan’s 2015THAT BASS TOUR have completely sold out in advance. She embarks on the tour February 11, 2015 at the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, BC, hitting major markets all over the U.S. and Canada. Expect more dates for next year to be announced very soon.
