Melissa Benoist To Make Broadway Debut In “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical”

Chances are, you already love Melissa Benoist on the hit CW series Supergirl. But now, the star has another huge professional milestone on the horizon: it was just announced that the actress will be making her Broadway debut as the title role in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. She will be taking the stage on June 7 for a limited run, reportedly lasting until August 4, 2018.

The musical follows the life and career of American singer/songwriter and composer Carole King, whose hits include “You’ve Got a Friend,” “Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” and countless more. Melissa is honored to be taking on such an iconic person’s role.

“The stage has always felt like home to me, and the fact that I will be joining the amazingly talented Beautiful family for my Broadway debut is wish fulfillment at its finest,” Melissa shared in a statement. “Carole’s music was a mainstay in my household growing up, like it was for so many people. It will be an honor and a pleasure to sing her music and portray her inspiring resilience to audiences every night.”

She even shared a first-look at her glowing stage poster across her social media accounts.

The current Beautiful: The Carole King Musical cast also includes Ben Jacoby as Barry Mann, Jessica Keenan Wynn as Cynthia Weil, Evan Todd as Gerry Goffin, Liz Larsen as Genie Klein, and Paul Anthony Stewart as Don Kirshner.

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical is now playing at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, located at 124 W 43rd St, New York, NY 10036. For tickets to Melissa’s run or the current production, be sure to visit the box office or place an order through Telecharge.
