Melissa McCarthy Will Return To “Gilmore Girls” Netflix Reboot

Even though it was reported that Melissa McCarthy wouldn’t be able to join the Gilmore Girls  reboot, the actress revealed that she will be returning as her character Sookie. McCarthy stopped by Ellen to spill the news.

“Literally, about an hour and a half ago, we figured out that I’m going to go and do it, and I’m so excited. [Series creator] Amy Sherman-Palladino is gonna squeeze me in to do it and I’m very happy to go back to Stars Hollow.”

Due to McCarthy’s busy schedule, her character Sookie won’t have a full story line, but we are so happy she will still be involved. The four part revival of Gilmore Girls on Netflix will have the whole gang back in Stars Hollow! Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel will be returning along with Scott Patterson, Rose Abdoo, Sally Struthers, Kelly Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia, David Sutcliffe, Jared Padalecki, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Sean Gunn, Keiko Agena, Yanic Truesdale, Danny Strong and Vanessa Marano.

Gilmore Girls ran from 2000 on The WB and stuck with the network when it turned into The CW until 2007 when it was canceled. There has been no information on a premier date yet, but we will keep you updated.
