Miley Cyrus: “Wrecking Ball” Most Viewed Video in History! (@MileyCyrus)

2013+MTV+Video+Music+Awards+Arrivals+XilelFXJB00lMiley Cyrus new music video for the song “Wrecking Ball” has broken the record on Vevo with 12.3 million views for the most views in a 24 hour period.

She took the record on Vevo back from One Direction and their music video for “Best Song Ever” when their song debuted with 10.9 million views.  Miley held the record previous from One Direction when her music video for “We Can’t Stop” released with 10.7 million views.

Miley went on twitter to thank her smilers, “Wrecking Ball has officially beat the Vevo record. Thank you smilerzzzzz.” She continued to tweet, “We broke the record 🙂 We hit 12.3 million on vevo 🙂 keep watching #wreckingballonvevo thank you Smilers.”

Miley’s album, “Bangerz” is set to release on October 8.  She will also be both the host as well as the musical guest for Saturday Night Live on October 5.
