This week, we are introducing you to a songwriter on our radar that goes by the name Jaden Michaels.
Over the years, Jaden has written songs for A-listers including Jennifer Lopez, Robin Thicke, Lea Michele (“Louder,” “What Is Love?”) Naya Rivera (“Sorry”), and American Idol contestants Jessica Sanchez (“Change Nothing”) and Candice Glover (“I Am Beautiful”). Jaden also wrote the triple-platinum hit “Love Game” for Japanese artist Namie Amuro.
After people discovered Jaden’s excellent songwriting skills, she became one of the most in-demand writers in the game. Jaden was later signed to Pulse Recordings. “At Pulse Recordings, I was the baby of the company,” she smiles. “They threw me into sessions that Bonnie McKee would’ve been in when she wasn’t available. Then, artists started requesting me for sessions.”
After being homeless in L.A. for a period in her early teens, the 23-year-old is now ready to release her original songs under her own name. Currently, Jaden is signed to 19 Management and in the process of releasing a debut record. “When people hear these songs, I hope they see this little girl who came from nothing, went through so much, and is here doing it,” she says. “You can’t just dream. You have to put it in motion. I’m proof of that, and I’m being honest with every word I write.” Her debut single, “Walk On,” is a soulful anthem that indisputably pops. The track has been syndicated to radio and is now available on iTunes.
