Over the weekend, Celeb Secrets had the opportunity to attend BeautyCon NYC and it was every beauty-obsessed person’s dream!
Held at Pier36 in New York City, the event featured beauty panels, makeup tutorials, chatrooms, and meet-ups with some of the most influential online personalities (content creators) in the world.
“Once again our content creators have helped give this young generation an IRL (in real life) experience like no other,” said Moj Mahdara, CEO of Beautycon Media. “Even though the world is increasingly digital, there is nothing like the community of a Beautycon Festival. Our audience is incredibly diverse and see beauty as an expression of creativity and power, rather than something they’re doing to conceal or make themselves feel better. After we talked to our favorite beauty gurus on the pink carpet, we checked out all of the vendors, booths, and activities BeautyCon NYC had to offer! Major beauty distributors such as QVC, L’Oreal, Maybelline, and Redken spoiled us with a (literal) suitcase full of goodies. After sorting through everything, we comprised a list of our favorite products, which you can check out below!

Our time with Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture was one of our most “hands on” experience we had at BeautyCon NYC this weekend.
QVC’s newest addition to their beauty family, Madame C.J. Walker Beauty Culture celebrates the beauty of every woman. Their performance-driven hair care solutions harness the highest quality natural ingredients to empower every woman to lok and feel their best — their way.
At BeautyCon NYC, the brand was showing off their Wonderful Deep Conditioning Masque, which envelopes dry, damaged or color-treated hair in luxuriously-rich moisture. The representatives at Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture handed us our own plain masque. We were then allowed to choose one of three oils to mix in our mask that would best fit our hair type to make it rich in moisture and feeling great!
The three oils were as follows:
BRASSICA SEED OIL (WE CHOSE)
Brassica Seed Oil smooths, silkens, and moisturizes while adding incredible shine, subtly scented with a blend of spun sugar and notes of red velvet cream.
COCONUT OIL
Coconut oil maintains curl definition and adds healthy shine, subtly scented with a medley of woods, coconut and notes of sweet vanilla.
JAMAICAN BLACK CASTOR OIL
Jamaican Black Castor oil hydrates dry curls and scalp, subtly scented with light notes of amber and warm musk.

Another brand we picked up in the QVC booth was NUDESTIX. The brand believes a nude look is a perfect fit for any face, hence why their makeup is in all nude tones.

We are regular users of philosophy and absolutely love how their products make our skin and hair look and feel healthy. We were SO EXCITED that the beauty brand gave us their signature shampoo, shower gel, and bubble bath in a full size (omg) container because that’s how good it is!

Our favorite product from the L’Oréal booth at BeautyCon NYC was their Voluminous Noir Liner in “300 Blackest Black.” The liquid liner is supposed to help create the classic cat-eye look that everyone looks to achieve!

HOW TO USE: Starting at the inner corner of the eye, draw a thin line along the lash line. At the middle of the eye, start to thicken the line. Extend past outer corner of eye and flick upward toward eyebrow. For a more intense cat eye look, extend line downward from the inner corner of the eye. For best results, store product horizontally.
PRECAUTIONS: Eye cosmetics in a scratched, infected or irritated eye and scratches from cosmetic eye applicators can lead to eye damage, and in extreme cases, even blindness.
