Celeb Secrets:Â What was it like working with Wesley Snipes?Â
Laura Bilgeri: “Working with him was an absolute dream come true. When I first found out that he was set to play the ‘hunter’ in The Recall, I couldn’t believe it. It was truly an honor to be able to work with such an incredible actor. Such a legend. We had an absolute blast on set every ay, and he is one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met- not to mention down to earth and such a professional.”
Celeb Secrets:Â Without giving too much away, what can you tell us about “The Recall”?
Laura Bilgeri:Â “The Recall is about five friends who go out on a weekend escape to have some fun – unaware that planet Earth is under an alien invasion and mass abduction. And of course, every good action movie has to have a love story element. My character ‘Annie’ tries to understand ‘Charlie’ (played by Jedidiah Goodacre) and get him to come out of his shell, as she peals back the layers, they realize their deeper feelings.”
Celeb Secrets:Â You’ll also be starring in a thriller film out this fall, what can tell us about that?Â
Laura Bilgeri: “Yes, I recently came back from Louisville, Kentucky. I booked a lead role in a thriller called “Dad Crush”. It Ìs a very dramatic story- actually quite similar to “American Beautyâ€, one of my favorite movies of all time. I play Riley, a shy and moody high schooler who gets in the middle of a very uncomfortable situation after finding out that her Dad (played by Rusty Joiner- “Resident Evil”, “Dodgeball”) and her best friend Kyla (Lucy Loken “Teen Wolf”) are having an affair. The film premieres November 1 on Lifetime.”
Celeb Secrets:Â What do you like to do on your down time?Â
Laura Bilgeri:Â “I love going to the beach. Especially after an exhausting week of auditions and being stuck in LA traffic everyday, Â the beach is the most amazing relaxation for me. Just laying in the sand and listing to the waves is my favorite thing.”
What a night!!!! The world premiere of @therecallmovie in Los Angeles! Words can't describe how grateful & happy I am to be part of this amazing project! Thank you @therecallmovie @bridgegatepictures @barcoescape for an unforgettable evening filled with so much joy! 🎊 The Recall hits regular theaters TODAY! Please go check it out & support the movie! You'll see …. aliens do exist👽
Celeb Secrets: Are you currently working on any other projects?Â
Laura Bilgeri:Â “I might go back to Austria for a week. I’m going to dub myself in German for The Recall. Since German is my native language, I thought it would be a great idea to just do it myself. The movie will hit European theaters later in the fall of this year – and then back to auditioning….”
Celeb Secrets:Â Do you have a favorite memory from the set of “The Recall”?Â
Laura Bilgeri:Â “Oh yes. It was the funniest thing ever. We were having a night shoot. I remember it was like 4:00 AM or something. We were all tired and delirious… That night we shot the scene where Wesley shoots the alien in the woods- and because we had simulated gun fire, our special effects team handed out earplugs. As they were handing them out, our wonderful director Mauro Borrelli was in the middle of giving scene direction and didn’t see or hear what they were handing him and popped them in his mouth thinking they were candy. After a few seconds, he looks around and says “what kind of candy is this!””
Celeb Secrets: Since we are Celeb Secrets, can you share a secret or hidden talent about yourself?Â
Laura Bilgeri:Â “I also sing. I grew up in a house where there was not one day without music. I love Jazz. I wake up listening to Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra or Diana Washington everyday. Singing is definitely something I will also focus on in the near future. And maybe I Ìll make an album one day. You never know, in this fabulously crazy town :-)”
