Here at Celeb Secrets, we love to find artists before they blow up and start topping the charts, and soulful pop artist Azra might be the next singer/songwriter to do just that!
Originally from South Korea, music is how Azra started to learn English when she moved to the United States as a child.
In 2016, Azra wrote and recorded her debut EP, Freedom, in Los Angeles under her own record label, CLÚ Records. Azra wrote these four songs about her past experiences with love and music. Her message promotes self-expression – a message that comes from her struggle to express herself when she was younger because she did not know how to speak English.
Freedom is available TODAY, March 3rd, 2017, so we went ahead and did a track-by-track breakdown of what you can expect to hear!
Be sure to keep up with Azra on Twitter at @theazraofficial!
Starting with “Just Break Free”, here’s our review of Freedom!
“Just Break Free” – The overall feel of this song reminds us what you’d hear at the mall while shopping at Forever 21 or H&M. It’s upbeat, has an uplifting message, and it’s catchy enough to get stuck in your head after just one listen!
“Gravity” – If you’re looking for a song to create your next dance routine to – this is it! The synthesizers provide a great back beat along with a chanty chorus – yep, this is one for the dancers!
“Right Here” – This one is our favorite. Azra slows it down for this track, and we get to hear her vocals shine. “You can try to make me fall, you can try anything at all, but I will still be rising tall, “ she sings. It isn’t until the second verse that the drum beat comes in – a nice complement to the overall vibe of this song.
“Shine” – Shine is Azra’s latest single, and we can hear why! It has pop-radio written all over it. From the background chant of “hey!” in the bridge to irresistible beat in the chorus – you won’t be able to sit still while listening to this track.
