The voice behind The Chainsmokers hit “Roses” is back with a stunning music video for her powerful single “Under the Grave.”
ROZES, aka Liz Menzel, is a lyrical genuius, pristine vocalist, and flower crown goddess. Pretty much the overall cool chick that you’ll want to be your new BFF.
Released today via Marie Claire, ROZES unveiled the music video for the song currently boasts over 2 million streams on Spotify.
“I wanted the music video to portray different reactions to the processing of information,” she told the mag. “We all have our ways of coping in hard situations. In one shot I am reacting physically, in another I am reacting emotionally (shown through facial expressions), and lastly, one shot shows sort of a numb reaction.”
The track is an open apology to everyone the singer/songwriter lost contact with over the years.
“I wanted to write a song that explained how I recognize that I was not my best self in a situation where my friends needed me the most,” she says. “I think we’ve all been there. I think we all can remember a time when we weren’t ‘there’ for the people we loved the way we should have been. But it’s because we are human, and we all react differently to certain situations.”
