Every year, Nickelodeon sets aside one day, aka Worldwide Day of Play, where they completely go “off the grid” to encourage kids to get out and play. Over time, these efforts have resulted in thousands of events and millions of kids being active and pursuing healthy lifestyles.
To get ready for the big day on September 30th, Nickelodeon made stops across the country to empower kids to get up and get active. The six-city tour visited Boston, MA; Atlanta, GA; Washington, D.C.; Kansas City, MO; San Juan, Puerto Rico and Brooklyn, NY, which Celeb Secrets attended this past Saturday (September 16).
The Nethermead inside Brooklyn’s Prospect Park was completely transformed into a playground filled with Nickelodeon-themed games, including a Super Slime obstacle course, Nick bowling, a slime booth, costume characters and more. Lip Sync Battle Shorties host Jojo Siwa and School of Rock‘s Ricardo Hurtado, Breanna Yde, and Jade Pettyjohn were also onsite throughout the day, playing with kids and encouraging them and their families to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives.

We had the opportunity to catch up with Ricardo, Breanna, and Jade to talk about their favorite way to get outside, playing sports, and what’s to come on School of Rock next season. They also dished about the show’s EMMY nomination, upcoming guest stars, and the Freddie + Summer love story! Watch the interview below:
Make sure to celebrate Worldwide Day of Play with your friends and family next Saturday, September 30th!
