Following their U.S. television debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, and the use of their single “Geronimo” in a “lip-dub proposal” for NBC’s new show Marry Me – which racked up over 4 million views, SHEPPARD earned immense spikes in both digital sales and Spotify streams.
The Brisbane sensation’s debut single “Geronimo” vaulted over 30 spots on the iTunes Overall Top Songs chart, with sales doubling on SoundScan. Their Geronimo EP made an equally significant jump on the Top Alternative Albums chart. “Geronimo” already has become the highest-selling Australian single for 2014, and its success is just starting to translate in the United States in a big way.
In the last week, “Geronimo” was streamed 3.5 million times on Spotify in the U.S. – where it is now one of the Top 50 Most Played Songs, with over 20 million plays worldwide. In addition, “Geronimo” has claimed spots on three of the streaming service’s most prominent lists—Top Tracks in the United States, Top 100 Alternative Tracks on Spotify, and Top 100 Pop Tracks on Spotify.
Down under, SHEPPARD also received 7 Aria Award Nominations including top honors for “Album of the Year”, “Best Pop Release”, and “Song of the Year”, for “Geronimo”.
