So You Think You Can Dance has returned for its third week of live shows tonight (July 27th) in Los Angeles, Calif.
The Top 18 – Kate Harpootlian, Edson Juarez, Marissa Milele, Moises Parra, Gaby Diaz, Hailee Payne, Derek Piquette, Jim Nowakowski, Alexia Meyer, Yorelis Apolinario, Jessica Rabone, Virgil Gadson, Ariana Crowder, Burim “B1” Jusufi, Jana “JaJa” Vankova, Megan “Megz” Alfonso, Eddie “Neptune” Eskridge, and Asaf Goren — kicked off the show with a special group performance choreographed by Reina Hidalgo and Asiel Hardison to Justin Timberlake’s “Let the Groove Get In.” Following the group performance, the contestants were paired together to perform various contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, cha cha and African jazz sequences in front of judges Paula Abdul, Nigel Lythgoe, and Jason Derulo.
After the performances, host Cat Deeley announced that Ariana Crowder, Kate Harpootlian, Edson Juarez, Moises Parra, Asaf Goren and Burim “B1” Jusufi were the six contestants that received the fewest votes last week. It was up to the fans to decide who they wanted to save in the competition.
Following the announcement, Team Stage’s Alexia Meyer, Gaby Diaz, Hailee Payne, Kate Harpootlian, Marissa Milele, Derek Piquette, Edson Juarez, Jim Nowakowski and Moises Parra took the stage to perform a beautiful piece to Hayden Calnin’s “For My Help,” choreographed by Jaci Royal. After Team Stage, it was time for Team Street to perform their group number. Ariana Crowder, Jana “JaJa” Vankova, Megan “Megz” Alfonso, Yorelis Apolinario, Asaf Goren, Burim “B1″ Jusufi, Eddie “Neptune” Eskridge and Virgil Gadson performed incredible group number to Busta Rhymes’s “Break Ya Neck,” choreographed by Marty Kudelka.
At the end of the show, host Cat Deeley revealed the Twitter Save results, meaning that Kate Harpootlian and Ariana Crowder were put through in the competition. Judges Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo determined that Asaf Goren and Edson Juarez would be saved as well, leaving Burim “B1” Jusufi and Moises Parra to be eliminated.
