So You Think You Can Dance just wrapped its eighth week of live shows for its twelfth season this Monday (August 31) at CBS Studios in Los Angeles, Calif.

The Top 6 — Gaby Diaz, Hailee Payne, Jim Nowakowski, Virgil Gadson, Jana “JaJa” Vankova and Megan “Megz” Alfonso — took the stage by themselves, with SYTYCD All-Stars and each other to perform for America’s votes. Before each commercial break, the Top 6 contestants performed a solo which showcased their best moves for America to see. The solos were inspiration themed, which meant that each contestant danced to a song in honor of who or what inspired them to begin dancing.

The show kicked off with a contemporary group performance from the Top 6 to Jasmine Thompson’s “Everybody Hurts” choreographed by Mandy Moore. Following the group performance, the Top 6 along with all-stars Marko Germar, Alex Wong, Joshua Allen, Anya Garnis, Melanie Moore, Robert Roldan performed various jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, samba, and Broadway routines.

The moment we waited two hours for finally arrived — eliminations. SYTYCD host Cat Deeley returned to the stage with the bottom four contestants — Jim, Hailee, Virgil and Megz. This week, only America’s votes determine the fate of the contestants. There are no Twitter Saves or Judges Saves this point forward. After America voted, the two dancers that received the lowest combined votes were Jim and Megz, which resulted in elimination.

Make sure to tune in next Monday to watch the Top Four finalists  – (Stage): Gaby Diaz and Hailee Payne (Street): Virgil Gadson and Jana “Jaja” Vankova – perform three times over the jam-packed final performance episode – with other finalists, solo and with an All-Star.
