Taylor Swift Fails To Snatch A VMA Nomination – DETAILS!

Even though MTV had a blank space, Taylor Swift‘s name was left out of the VMA nominations.

The nominees for the 2016 Video Music Awards were announced on Tuesday, July 26 and Queen Beyoncé has earned herself a respective total of 11 nominations. Other artists who came out on top were Adele with 8 nods (7 of which were for “Hello”), Ariana Grande with 5, and Rihanna and Drake sitting pretty with 4 nominees each. But shockingly, last year’s big winner is this year’s big let-down. Taylor Swift fell flat earning no nominees to her name. Zero.

Now we’re sure that MTV aren’t insinuating that Swift isn’t worthy of a Moonman or that they’re team #Kimye, so why wouldn’t the “Bad Blood” vocalist be on the ballad? Well, it could be that her album 1989 was released in the fall of 2014 making it eligible for the 2015 ceremony. But then again, her video for “Out of the Woods” did come out in December of 2015, which is within the period for the 2016 VMAS. Whatever the reason may be, we’re sure Swift isn’t too bothered by it. She may have lost out on a Moonman, but hey, she has Tom Hiddleston.

Speaking of Taylor’s beaus, her most recent ex-beau Calvin Harris received three well-deserved nominees for Best Electronic Video, Best Male Video, and Best Collaboration. Nicely done, Harris.

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will air LIVE from Madison Square Garden on Sunday, August 28.
