1dcf422d-4a9f-4326-a5f6-51a8dd7086118123 is pleased to announce the upcoming release of PHX – MNL a live concert experience and documentary from the 8123 Tour in Manila early last year.

Headlined by The Maine, the tour saw opening sets from fellow 8123 artists Nick Santino and This Century. For fans in Manila, the DVD has been highly anticipated for more than a year now. Many fans were involved as subjects in the documentary itself – whether it was a crowd shot, being filmed at the artists’ meet and greet, interviewed at the concert, and for a few, even having production into their homes for an in-depth look at their thoughts on the bands. The concert documentary will release digitally worldwide this Friday, August 14th. Physical copies of the DVD will be available exclusively in Manila.

The DVD itself captures both the artist and fan perspective, then translates it into a special reflective piece showing what it truly means to the artists to experience Manila. Sean Silverman (This Century) weighs in on the fan support they receive in the Philippines, “it’s amazing how much they actually get into the music. That’s something we as artists have so much appreciation for.” The live footage really gives viewers a feel for the atmosphere at a show in Manila – capturing everything from stage banter to crowd response and fan engagement.  Cut in between songs from the live concert, behind-the-scenes shots include exclusive interviews with all members of the three bands, a radio station visit, candid footage, and so much more giving viewers unique access. It shows fans insight into the relationships among the 8123 artists and also a peek into their lives on tour in another country.

The idea to film this type of production formulated from a desire to capture the environment created by the energy from fans in that city. “We have always loved being in Manila and have a special connection with the crowds. We wanted the rest of the world to be able to see that. Manila has really supported 8123 in a huge way!” Pat Kirch (The Maine) explains. Nick Santino agrees, “I always look forward to playing shows in Manila. It’s the furthest I’ve been from home but I feel so welcomed every time I’m there. This last time was special.”

PHX – MNL releases this Friday worldwide in digital form.
