CMA Vocal Duo of the Year nominees The Swon Brothers – Zach and Colton – have been performing professionally since childhood, so they felt right at home during their October 1 visit with the acclaimed PS22 Chorus of fifth-grade students from the PS22 elementary school in Staten Island, New York.
Featured on Oprah, NBC Nightly News, Anderson Cooper 360° and more, the chorus has been recognized for their outstanding musical and academic accomplishments.
PS22 Chorus Director Gregg Breinberg and the children spent two hours outside of normal school hours to ask questions of the Swons and rehearse a performance together of the song “Pretty Beautiful,” one highlight of the duo’s self-titled Arista Nashville debut album, releasing October 14.
In the wake of their visit, Colton Swon shared, “It was such a great time performing with the PS22 Chorus. They’re so talented and really bring music to life in such a unique way.”
Zach Swon added, “We’ve been on the run so much lately that it was great to have the chance to slow down for a few hours and share that pure, simple love of music through the eyes of these incredible kids. It was just an amazing experience.”
This coming Monday, The Swon Brothers will be returning to New York for a Columbus Day performance on NBC’s Today show.
