Jean-Luc Bilodeau, who plays Ben Wheeler on ABC Family’s Baby Daddy, suffered a serious injury this weekend when his costume caught on fire at a Halloween party thrown by co-star Tahj Mowry.
The 24-year-old actor was wearing an “alpaca” getup that consisted of a Lycra suit with cotton balls glued onto it. His little DIY project accidentally caught fire when he backed into a tiki torch and he suffered burns to his legs and arms.
“Jean-Luc Bilodeau, star of ABC Family’s Baby Daddy, suffered a non-life-threatening injury on Saturday night. He is expected to make a full recovery. The Baby Daddy production schedule is being rearranged to accommodate him,” ABC Family said in a statement.
Baby Daddy was recently picked up for an additional 10 episodes for its fifth season. Production for the show began on Aug. 17, with eight out of ten episodes having already been shot at this time. Although the series is still in production, it will be pushed back so that Bilodeau can make a full recovery.
The premiere date on Feb. 3 at 8:30 pm will not affected.
Let’s hope the actor makes a speedy recovery!
