Tiffany Houghton released her latest single “The Best” on iTunes today! After giving her all in a relationship – where she only got the worst – comes a song that needs to be at the top of any back-to-school playlist.
Coming off the heels of her single and music video “Love Like That,” where Tiffany throws it back to the ’60s with her retro style and a view of relationships filled with love, respect, and kindness, “The Best” shows the aftermath of a modern-day relationship gone wrong.
“Songs come to me in the heat of the moment, and all of a sudden there’s this emotion inside of me that spreads like a flame. I remember feeling my pen almost rip through the paper as I penned the lyrics for “The Best.” I turn to humor when I’m angry, and this song turned out to be a humorous, yet unforgiving personal response wrapped up in 2 minutes and 52 seconds,” says Houghton.
The beautiful, bubbly blonde mixes these sharp lyrics and sassy attitude with the help of Hot Chelle Rae’s Nash Overstreet, who produced the track. “It all started with an acoustic guitar and vocals and we just built the production around what the song really is…Tiffany is sending a “wish you un-well” to an ex,” says Overstreet. Can you really blame her?! Absolutely not!
Currently on the American Dream Tour with pop-duo MKTO, Tiffany is no stranger to the entertainment world. She’s made a series of stops throughout her life to hone in on her craft as an artist; starting in New York on Broadway at the age of 10, then moving to Nashville at 17, before making the move out west where she currently resides in Los Angeles. Taking a little of each city with her, Tiffany continues to write from personal experiences while also taking time to communicate with her fans daily on social media.
