The movie centers around a young widow, Hannah (Rebecca Hall), who falls for pop culture scholar, Andrew (Jason Sudeikis), when he comes to Maine to interview her about the circumstances surrounding her late husband’s death. When the unlikely pair strike a deal to co-write a biography of Hannah’s husband, an acclaimed singer, Andrew finds himself clashing with a cast of locals, including Hannah’s hunky suitor (Joe Manganiello) and her loving but defensive parents (Blythe Danner, Richard Masur). Hannah and Andrew’s stormy partnership blossoms into an unexpected connection and they face the possibility that the newest chapter in their lives may involve each other.
