Coco Jones has grown so much since we first met her on Radio Disney’s NBT Competition in 2010!
Over the course of seven years, the now 19-year-old singer/songwriter released an EP under a major label, starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Let It Shine, and even shared some independent tracks with her loyal fans.
“I’ve grown as a person because I’m not obsessed with bedazzled things as much as I was in 2010. I was in a very shiny stage of life,” Jones laughs.
Coco has also changed musically, as her new material is nothing like “Holla at the DJ” and “Let Em Know.” “I feel like I’ve grown musically because I talk about a lot more real stuff. I was singing about slumber parties and basketball when I was younger, and now its about what I would want my sister to hear and say its a good message, or something for my friends to hear and understand.” she says.
Fans got a first taste of what Coco has been working on with the powerful track “Miss Me When I’m Gone” back in October 2016. The song delivers a strong message, stating that everyone is loved by everyone and someone is definitely missing you no matter what you think.
When Jones stopped by the studio a few months ago, she told Celeb Secrets that her fans, better known as “coco locos,” will receive new music, but just have to be patient. “I have enough songs to make [a record] happen tomorrow, but it just takes time putting things together. I want it to be perfect and worth all the waiting,” Coco told us. “There will be new singles dropping in 2017, however, there are no set dates for them either, but know that they will come out.”
