Congrats are in order for Mark McMorris this evening!
The 23-year-old professional snowboarder added another medal to his collection Friday night (January 27) in the America’s Navy Snowboard Big Air competition at X Games Aspen 2017 — making this his fifth Big Air, first bronze, and 12th medal at X Games.
McMorris‘ run included a perfectly landed backside triple cork 1620. He also attempted a quad in run of his runs, and unfortunately he did not land on his feet after. However, this did not stop him from winning a medal, as he secured the bronze medal position with a score of 73.00.
Celeb Secrets caught up with Mark moments after winning the bronze medal for the America’s Navy Snowboard Big Air competition. In our interview, McMorris talks about winning bronze, the atmosphere while competing in Big Air, how he chooses what tricks to perform in competition, and his hopes for making the 2018 Winter Olympics Canadian team.
