Stacey dropped the music video for her song “First Move” not too long ago and it’s absolutely amazing.
The Toronto songstress paired the visual with an eloquent poem, which is something we don’t see from many artists.
Dearest lover of song…
My music video for “First Move,” the title track off my upcoming EP, is out now
A lamenting fantasy
The twilight visions of what could be
Laced with psychedelic luxury
Spiraling slowly in space
Directed by Nicole Powell &Â STACEY
A tableau vivant
Where time has crystallized
With kaleidoscopic glamour
Transcendence
Filmed at the historic Glanmore House
Where ghosts & decades of style remain
Elegant preservation
Yours, forever trapped in imaginary spaces,
 STACEY
“First Move” can be heard off her sophomore EP which will be released later this year.
“I wanted to create a world that emulates the in-between moments of potential new love. How they can feel lush & beautiful but they’re also obscured & elusive,” Stacey says about the track. “And because you feel it all in isolation, it’s hard to tell what’s real, and easy to slip into a state of surreality. Like a lucid dream looking through a kaleidoscope, or a moving painting.â€
For those of you that don’t know Stacey, her music featured on Degrassi, MTV Scream, Lucifer and Orphan Black and her first single “First Move†is currently in rotation at CBC Radio in Canada.
