The answer is no. Apparently Live! doesn’t have any special plans for Michael Strahan‘s big (or should I say small) sendoff.
Kelly Ripa had temporarily left the show after apparently being blindsided with the retired NFL player’s decision to make his permanent exit. When she finally decided to return to Live! on Tuesday, she took it upon herself to make the announcement that Michael Strahan’s time as her co-host was greatly reduced. You heard right – our favorite gap-toothed host will be leaving to become a co-anchor on Good Morning America earlier than what was initially planned.
During the announcement, many fans voiced their opinion with a chorus of boos, while one fan yelled, “We still love you, Kelly!” Ripa then reassured that she wasn’t going anywhere. Yay or nay?
Strahan was slated to officially leave the talk show in September of this year, but it looks like the friction between the two co-stars had a little hand in speaking up that process. On Wednesday, not a single word was said about Strahan’s exit leaving the audience to believe that everything was back to normal. But soon after the episode aired, Ripa conducted a solo interview with actress Anna Chlumsky – telling the Live! audience that it was only because the interview will be airing after Michael’s departure and they have yet to pick a replacement.
Michael Strahan’s last day on the show will be on Friday, May 13th. Good thing that 13 is his number!
Who do you think should become Kelly Ripa’s new co-host? Sound off in the comments!
