Zayn Malik has just gone up in history for the latest Twitter Beef on the internet. Apparently the whole argument went down because of a third party Twitter account “B***** Problems” tweeted two quotes, one from Miley Cyrus and one from Taylor Swift. The Taylor Swift quote was about why she removed her music from Spotify “[People] can still listen to my music if they get it on iTunes. I’m always up for trying something. And I tried it and I didn’t like the way it felt. I think there should be an inherent value placed on art.” As opposed to the Miley Cyrus quote on her Happy Hippie Foundation “I’ve made my money. If no one buys my album, cool. It’s fine. I’ve got a house, and I’ve got dogs that I love. I don’t need anything else”. The Tweet’s main point was to cast a bad light on Taylor Swift for her focus on money and a good light on Miley for not caring about profit.
How did Zayn get in the middle of it? From simply re-tweeting it. After he re-tweeted the post, Calvin Harris (Taylor Swift’s boyfriend) decided to step in and defend her honor. The only issue is it might of been a misplaced gesture. Want to see the original Tweets that have since been taken down? Check out below!
So far Taylor Swift hasn’t responded, but after her misplaced Twitter Battle with Nicki Minaj maybe she understands this website has a history of turning a simple thing as re-tweeting into full blown issues. We sure know that Drake and Meek Mill have felt the power of Twitter’s wrath as well. All that’s for certain is this summer will be known for as The Summer of The Infamous Twitter Battles.
