Lady Gaga Crashes the Spotify x Netflix ‘Wednesday’ Graveyard Gala and Unveils “The Dead Dance” (Recap)

Leave it to Wednesday Addams to turn a premiere party into a full-on funeral. Last week, Spotify and Netflix cracked open the crypt at Guastavino’s for the Graveyard Gala — a fog-drenched, Tim Burton–coded bash celebrating Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 that the Celeb Secrets team was lucky to score an invite to. With Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, and Joy Sunday haunting the room, the night was already set for scream-worthy magic. But nothing — not even the raven perched on the tombstones — prepared us for Lady Gaga rising from the shadows to debut her new anthem, “The Dead Dance.”

The night’s eeriest (and fiercest) surprise? A spectral appearance by Lady Gaga, who emerged in true Nevermore fashion to announce her brand-new single, “The Dead Dance” — written exclusively for Wednesday and featured in Part 2 of this season.

At the event, we were invited to climb inside bespoke coffin booths for a literal graveyard listening session, headphones glowing as Gaga’s electro-pop banger pulsed beneath the lid. Surreal? Totally. But also perfectly fitting for a world where spiders crawl, Thing steals the show, and the line between camp and creepy blurs into something deliciously dark.

“I’m thrilled to release this song alongside Wednesday,” Gaga told Netflix’s Tudum. “I’m a huge fan of the show and had so much fun appearing in it to support ‘The Dead Dance.’”

And yes — if hearing her wasn’t enough, fans can also see her this season. Gaga joins the cast as Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious Nevermore teacher whose arrival shakes things up in the best (and spookiest) way.

Jenna Ortega, who now wears both the Wednesday hat and producer hat, couldn’t hold back her awe: “If you’re into Wednesday, if you’re into Lady Gaga, you should be very excited to see her in Part 2 — it really works. She’s unbelievable.”

Between sips of poison-apple cocktails and aura readings that revealed which character matched your energy, the immersive details turned Guastavino’s into a Nevermore night market of oddities.

Tim Burton’s fingerprints were everywhere — flickering lanterns, spiderwebbed iron fences, and fog that clung to guests’ ankles as though we were already halfway to the afterlife. Emma Myers and Joy Sunday danced with fans while poets tapped out gothic verses on antique typewriters, making sure no one left without their own darkly poetic souvenir.

But it was Gaga’s arrival — alongside Ortega, Myers, and Sunday — that sealed the deal: this wasn’t just a party, it was a moment. A reminder that Wednesday’s cultural pull is still very much alive (even if her favorite aesthetic isn’t).

As if a coffin premiere wasn’t enough, Gaga dropped the official music video for “The Dead Dance” today (September 3), marking her first creative collaboration with visionary director Tim Burton. And trust us: it’s the gothic pop fever dream fans have been waiting for.

Shot on Mexico’s infamous Isla de las Muñecas (Island of the Dolls), the video shifts between stark black-and-white frames and bursts of blood-red, corpse-green color. Gaga commands the screen in Colleen Atwood–designed couture, moving through Burton’s unsettling world of dangling dolls and decaying beauty with choreography from Parris Goebel and Corey Baker.

It’s equal parts horror film, high fashion editorial, and supernatural rave — a perfect mirror of the track itself, which fuses breakup-inspired lyrics with a funky, bouncy beat that dares the dead to keep dancing.

Now that Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 has officially dropped on Netflix, fans can stream “The Dead Dance” and the full soundtrack on Spotify’s official playlist — which features tracks from BLACKPINK, Blue Öyster Cult, The Rapture, and more. Keep an eye on your progress bar, too: Thing might just crawl across while you’re listening.

Because if the Graveyard Gala taught us anything, it’s this: the world of Wednesday thrives on the unexpected. And with Gaga in the mix, the dead won’t be resting anytime soon.
