TracieLynn Gets Gritty and Honest With New EP Doing Fine — and We’ve Got the Inside Scoop (Exclusive)

Virginia-bred, Nashville-based powerhouse TracieLynn isn’t here to play it safe. With her brand-new EP Doing Fine (out now), the rising country artist leans all the way into grit, grace, and Southern storytelling, proving she’s carving out a lane all her own.

Anchored by lead single “Good and Gone” — a slow-burn goodbye that simmers before erupting into fiery resolve — the six-song project finds TracieLynn unapologetically telling her truth. “I wanted this to feel like a punch to drywall,” she tells Celeb Secrets. “It’s the breaking point where you’ve had enough and your inner voice says no more.”

While “Doing Fine” hits with plenty of bite, its heartbeat is pure tenderness. The title track doubles as a love letter to her parents, the foundation of her journey. “I chose ‘Doing Fine’ as the title track because it’s the heartbeat of this project,”she shares. “It’s a song for my mom and dad — two of the biggest reasons I’m able to chase this dream. Naming the project after this song felt like the most honest way to honor that.”

One of her proudest moments came when she sang it live for them: “My dad, who’s not usually one to cry, completely lost it — and so did my mom. Seeing my parents moved like that reminded me exactly why I make music.”

Part of what makes “Doing Fine” stand out is TracieLynn’s knack for balancing raw honesty with almost movie-like storytelling. When I write songs bold and defiant like ‘To Hell,’ I definitely tap into real-life emotions. But I also love imagining characters and letting them run wild in these songs,” she explains. “It’s almost like I’m directing a little movie in my head.”

That approach comes alive across the tracklist: “Pretty Machine” drips with dark, sultry vulnerability, “Parade” stomps with defiance, and “To Hell” delivers a whiskey-soaked gut punch of heartbreak and temptation.

“I wrote ‘To Hell’ about that moment when you catch the person you love cheating,” she says. “You’re sitting at a bar with a glass of whiskey, trying to numb it, but with every sip that little devil on your shoulder gets louder. It’s that tug of war between heartbreak and temptation — and knowing if you act on it, that whiskey’s gonna take you straight to hell.”

Even the reflective tracks don’t hold back. With “Good Years” she urges listeners not to waste their prime on the wrong people: “The main point of the song was to not waste your good years on someone who isn’t worth them because once those years are gone you can’t get them back. Your time is the most valuable form of currency.”

Meanwhile, “Parade” speaks directly to anyone carrying hidden struggles: “It’s okay to not be okay sometimes, and you’re not alone. Tomorrow is another day.”

TracieLynn’s sound draws comparisons to Miranda Lambert and Ashley McBryde, but she insists it’s her personal scars and sense of humor that shape her music. “I’d call my sound unapologetic country with grit, heart, and a little bit of attitude,” she says. “I want the music to feel like we’re sitting on a front porch swapping real-life stories, but with enough punch to make you want to crank it up and sing along.”

Having already shared the bill with heavy-hitters like Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, and Miranda Lambert, she carries a key piece of advice from backstage: “Always remain true to yourself and the rest will follow.”

That authenticity shines brightest when she’s performing. “I feel the most confident on stage — I absolutely love performing,” she says, adding that writing feels just as empowering when she’s with people who share her vision.

And while the EP captures her at her boldest, she isn’t slowing down. She even revealed a little Celeb Secret: “I’m releasing a music video for ‘Doing Fine’ that I filmed, directed, produced and edited entirely by myself.”

At the end of the day, Doing Fine is about connection. “I hope fans walk away feeling like they really know me — not just as a singer, but as a storyteller and a person,” TracieLynn says. “If they can listen from top to bottom and feel like they’ve just had a conversation with a friend who’s been through some of the same highs and lows they have, then I’ve done my job.”

And as far as what’s next? She’s dreaming bigger than ever: “I’d like a manager and booking agent who truly believe in me.”

With Doing Fine, TracieLynn makes one thing clear — she’s not just “doing fine.” She’s doing something unforgettable.
