Over the weekend, CelebSecrets4U checked out Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles’ Annual Girltopia LA, the country’s largest expo just for girls held at the Anaheim Convention Center on Saturday (November 9) in Los Angeles, Calif.
Girltopia: The World of Girl was an all-day event all about exploration, empowerment, and Girl Scout spirit. Girltopia 2013 celebrated all things “girl” through activities aimed at sparking creativity and leadership in thousands of girl and young women.
More than 6,000 girls ages 5-18 and their families came to the Los Angeles Convention Center to celebrate girl leadership all while having fun learning, creating, and exploring tons of activities related to Girl Scout’s program areas, such as, leadership, business smarts, environment and outdoor adventure, arts and culture. It also included the learning of STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), and wellness and healthy living. Girltopia is also home to a dynamic main stage, an energized SportZone, exciting authors alley, the Barbie® “Be Anything, Do Everything” Experience, Nestlé’s Wellville, the BYOU Magazine Celebrity Hotspot, and more.
BYOU Magazine held a celebrity Empowerment Panel, which included many celebrities such as Allisyn Arm, Madison Pettis, Kat McNamara, Kelli Berglund, Olivia Holt, Laura Marano, Bethany Mota, Ryan Newman, Sydney Park, and Peyton List. During this panel, each of these girls gave advice towards anyone dealing with bullying, losing friends, self esteem issues and much more. They even shared some of their experiences and talked about how they moved forward from it!
BYOU Magazine represents a message of wanting to show young girls everywhere they are worth something and each person has a unique characteristic about them. They teach these girls empowerment, respect and accept themselves, and they also teach ways to give back to the community.
CelebSecrets4U was on the pink carpet for Girltopia LA, where we caught up with many of your favorite Disney and Nickelodean stars to talk about everything from Girl Scouts to their upcoming projects!
