Mac Miller Fans Remember Singer On Third Anniversary of ‘Swimming’ Album

It has officially been three years since late rapper Mac Miller’s fifth and final studio album, Swimming was released to the public.

Swimming, the last album of the 26-year-old hip-hop artist’s short-lived career, was released on August 3, 2018 – just a month before his death.

The 13-track collection features only himself and is one of the most angelic albums Miller has ever produced. The record, stemming from the heartbreak he experienced with his ex Ariana Grande, was reviewed very highly by many cretics. Miller was praised for taking such a vulnerable approach and singing about his feelings.

Some of the tracks also stemmed from his mental health struggle and his drug addiction. His songs about his challenges make the timing of his death that much more sad and tragic.

Distributed by Warner Records, several artists had a hand in producing the project, including J. ColeDev Hynes, and Snoop Dogg. The album soared to No.1 for a short time on Apple Music following his death. It even went up for “Best Rap Album” at the 2019 Grammy’s.

The intro track, Come Back to Earth, sets the positive tone for the project. Singing, “I was drowning, but now I’m swimming,” Miller gets very vulnerable throughout each track. The album’s three singles were Small WorldsSelf Care, and What’s the Use?

#MacMiller has been trending all day on Twitter (Aug.3,) as fans are posting their favorite song from Swimming, as well as a kind tribute to Miller. He left a significant impact on the music industry as a whole, being remembered for his positive anthems that he brought to many ears.

Whether you are just hearing this album for the first time or you’re revisiting it for a good listen, this 13-track piece will bring you on an emotional rollercoaster ride from start to finish. His music lives on in our minds and in our hearts forever.
