Premiering a day ahead of its official release on September 25, Jet’s brand-new single “Sane To My Crazy” is a buoyant, infectious country jam celebrating the kind of love that keeps your feet on the ground while letting your heart run wild.
Co-written alongside David Seger and Ericca Latza, and co-produced by Jet alongside Dan Frizsell at Nashville’s Farmland Studio, the track leans into a spirited country swing that grabs you from the very first acoustic pluck. But beneath its toe-tapping rhythm is a deeply personal inspiration.
“When David originally brought this idea to Ericca and me, he said that he was so lucky to have someone like Kathi in his life,” Jet exclusively tells Celeb Secrets Country, opening up about how the song came to life. “He’s always been the dreamer/musician and she’s been the level-headed one in their marriage. Aka, the sane to his crazy.”
Bringing such an intimate story into the studio wasn’t without its high-stakes moments, but Jet wanted the message to shine above all else.
“Bringing this song from just a guitar and vocal worktape to a full band production was honestly stressful,” Jet reveals. “It’s such an intimate story that I didn’t want to overcomplicate… I really didn’t want the song to be overtaken by the music. I wanted the lyrics and story to do most of the heavy lifting. When I heard John Willis play the acoustic in the intro, from that first note, I knew we had it.”
For eagle-eyed (and eager-eared) fans looking for a signature Jet Jurgensmeyer touch, the singer gave us a peek behind the curtain on his songwriting trademarks.
“You can almost always tell it’s a song that I was a writer on by two things,” Jet dishes. “One, there’s a walk up and down from the minor chord in the verses. Two, there’s a tag at the end of the song re-singing the first verse. I find myself doing this a lot because I think it helps bookend the story.”

“I’m a regular guy that gets to write and perform songs for a living, so I’m going to keep trying to write about what I’m going through in order to connect with my audience,” Jet reflects. “I really hope everyone knows that there’s someone out there for everyone… We really wanted to help everyone sit back and think about their loved ones and how blessed they are to have them.”
