Matt Hansen’s Orchid era is far from over. In fact, he’s giving it a whole new life.
The singer-songwriter is revisiting his breakout debut with Orchid (Deluxe), an expanded edition featuring four additional tracks, including two new songs, “UNFORGETTABLE” and “Canary,” alongside previously released singles “THINKING BOUT ME” and “UNSPOKEN.” Released on September 25, the deluxe album gives fans more time inside the emotional world Hansen has spent years building while hinting at what comes after heartbreak.
And if the original Orchid was about finding beauty in the aftermath of loss, this next chapter feels like an invitation to keep growing.
When Hansen stopped by to chat with Celeb Secrets on the red carpet at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles on September 27, he was fresh off the excitement of his first-ever VMAs and gearing up for a major new milestone: The Orchid Tour, his 35-date international headlining run.
“I’m going on tour in one week,” he told us at the time, sharing that he would head to Europe throughout October before bringing the tour to North America in November and December. “It’s gonna be really fun.”

For an artist whose music has always made room for the feelings we sometimes struggle to put into words, the live show is where that vulnerability comes full circle. After all, Hansen didn’t build his audience by chasing a perfectly polished pop-star image. He did it by making music that feels personal, whether through the stripped-down covers that first caught attention online or the original songs that have since connected with listeners around the world.
And that connection is exactly what he’s most excited to experience again.
“This is my third time that I get to do this, and every time that I get to hear them sing the songs back, it’s just, like, the greatest feeling in the world,” Hansen said of performing for his fans. “I look forward to it every single year, and it’s one of my favorite times of the year.”

It’s a sentiment that feels especially fitting for Orchid, a debut album rooted in love, loss and the ways life’s hardest moments can change us. When we spoke with Hansen earlier this year about the project, he described it as a reflection of the past four or five years of his life — a period filled with personal growth, relationship changes and plenty of lessons learned along the way.
The title itself carries that same emotional weight. As Hansen explained in our previous conversation, an orchid can thrive for years with the right care, but without it, it can quickly fall apart. For him, that became a metaphor for love and the attention it needs to survive.
Now, with four additional tracks expanding the album’s story, listeners have even more music to connect with as Hansen takes the project from their headphones to the stage. And with more than one billion streams worldwide, over six million monthly Spotify listeners and a career built independently, he’s proving that an artist can grow a global audience while staying true to the feelings that inspired the music in the first place.

The momentum isn’t slowing down anytime soon, either. The Orchid Tour is taking Hansen across the UK and Europe before its North American leg continues through December, with stops including New York City’s Irving Plaza on November 17 and Los Angeles’ Troubadour on December 11. It’s another major step for an artist who has turned an intimate songwriting approach into a worldwide connection with fans.
With Orchid (Deluxe) now out and his biggest headlining tour yet bringing the songs to audiences across continents, Hansen is giving fans plenty of reasons to stay tuned. Whether you discovered him through a nostalgic cover or found yourself in the middle of one of his original heartbreak anthems, there’s more to his story still unfolding — and he’s ready to let listeners hear every part of it.
