Alicia Keys, Garth Brooks and Halsey are receiving the top honors at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards next month.
Announced earlier today by iHeartRadio, Keys will receive the iHeartRadio Innovator Award, Halsey will receive the iHeartRadio Fangirls Award, and Brooks will receive the first-ever Artist of the Decade Award.
The coveted iHeartRadio Innovator Award will recognize the 15-time Grammy winner for her unparalleled contributions to pop culture and social causes as an artist, songwriter, producer, entrepreneur and activist. Past honorees of the iHeartRadio Innovator Award include Pharrell, Justin Timberlake, U2, Bruno Mars and Chance The Rapper.
For the first time ever, iHeartRadio will be presenting an “Artist of the Decade Award” which deserves to go to none other than Brooks. His impact on the music industry is unfathomable, as he is one of the world’s most successful and beloved artists of all time.
Halsey has been pushing boundaries with the music ever since she released her debut EP Room 93 in 2014. Spreading positive messages to her fans around the globe, it makes sense to have The Fangirls Award, which celebrates the power of women coming together in support of other women, presented to her.
Halsey embodies the L’Oréal Paris philosophy, “Because You’re Worth It,” demonstrating ambition, passion and a strong sense of self-worth by using her voice both in her chart-topping music – which has garnered more than 10 billion streams globally, nearly 8 million adjusted albums sold and 6 consecutive top 5 airplay singles, and championing causes she passionately believes in, including disenfranchised youth, women’s rights, mental health and the LGBTQ community. The alternative pop artist also is nominated in three 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards categories, including Female Artist of the Year. Last year’s inaugural iHeartRadio Fangirls Award recipient was Camila Cabello.
The nominees for the iHeartRadio Music Awards were announced on January 9, with artists like Cardi B, Drake, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Post Malone, Maroon 5 and Imagine Dragons receiving top nominations. You can still vote for your favorite artist now by visiting iHeartRadio.com/awards.
The 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards air LIVE from the Microsoft Theater on Thursday, March 14th @ 8PM ET/PT on FOX and on the iHeartRadio app.
