Famed musician Kanye West and NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown might be preparing for a venture partnership.
The news comes following Brown’s rampage in January, in which he removed his shirt, ran off the field, and hopped on a flight out of Tampa in the middle of a Buccaneers game. Since then, Brown has befriended legendary musician Kanye West, now officially known as Ye, becoming the president of Kanye’s Donda Sports fashion line.
Now, the duo has announced that they’re in the running to purchase the Denver Broncos NFL team. Not only that, but they are “extremely serious” about it, according to Brown.
“Tell Roger [Goodell] to call me,” Brown said. “We’re working on it…We’re extremely serious about it. We’re working toward getting it done.”
Broncos owner Pat Bowlen and his family recently announced that they were stepping away from the organization, putting it up for sale. The Broncos are estimated to be worth a staggering $4 billion, and with Brown’s total career earnings only adding up to about $80 million, it would be up to Kanye to purchase the team.
Kanye has claimed that he is worth $10 billion, despite Forbes having him valued at $1.8 billion. Plus, the purchase would also have to be approved by the other 31 NFL owners. It seems unlikely that Kanye and Brown would be “extremely serious” about buying the team if their total net worths were not enough to cover the expenses, but given both Brown’s and West’s prior antics, you never know.
