The 6th Annual Thirst Project Gala was hosted by NCIS actor Pauley Perrette at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Thirst Project supporters gathered for a night to not only honor Wyck Godfrey (producer) and Connor Franta (Social Media Influencer), but also to honor those who have made a difference in fighting the world water crisis.
The Thirst Project is a nonprofit organization that travels across the United States speaking at schools to educate students about the global water crisis to challenge them to fundraise to build wells. All the money donated directly goes to the funding freshwater wells on the ground. In 6 years, the Thirst Project has gotten help from over 300,000 students across the United States, who have raised $8 million and used to give 260,00 people in 12 countries safe, clean water. Several people are not aware of how serious the water crisis is around the world, while here in the United States we can easily access water by turning on a faucet. Almost 1 billion people on the planet do not have access to safe, clean water.
