Sorry Harry Potter fans… Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he’s officially hung up his cloak and put away his wand.
While promoting his upcoming film Lost City, which will hit theaters next Friday (March 25), Radcliffe — who stars alongside Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum — took the time to clear up what his Harry Potter future holds.
“This isn’t the answer that anybody’s going to want, but I think I was so able to go back and enjoy it because it’s not a part of my day-to-day life anymore,” he told The New York Times. “I’m getting to a point where I feel like I made it out of Potter OK, and I’m really happy with where I am now, and to go back would be such a massive change to my life.”
Although many fans wanted to hear a different answer, the 32-year-old actor was quick to say that his decision could change in the future.
“Never… say never,” he said. “The Star Wars guys had, like, 30, 40 years before they went back. For me, it’s only been 10. It’s not something I’m really interested in doing right now.”
This isn’t the first time that Radcliffe or his cast members have commented on a possible come back into the wizarding world. Back in March 2021, Radcliffe’s Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint revealed to Esquire that going back into that franchise isn’t something he can imagine.
“I think going back now would be… I can’t really imagine it. But, I mean, never say never. It would only be if everyone else wants to do the same. But yeah, no… I think just leave it.”
