Girlboss is now streaming on Netflix and we can’t stop binge-watching it!
In case you didn’t know, Girlboss is based on the best-selling book #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso, the founder of the successful clothing company Nasty Gal.
The show takes place in Francisco, CA, 2006. Sophia (Britt Robertson) starts off in the beginning as a misfit hipster who loses her job and is trying to find her way through adulthood and make a living with what she has. She ends up creating a business by finding vintage clothing and begins selling it on eBay. Sophia’s business continues to grow and she gives it the name Nasty Gal. Along the way, Sophia discovers what it’s like to be her own girl boss. This girl went from rag to riches real quick.

Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect) is the show’s creator and executive producer. Girl Boss also stars Johnny Simmons, who plays Sophia’s love interest Shane, and Ellie Reed, Sophia’s best friend Annie.
