Imagine logging on to Instagram and your favorite artist hops on live and asks what your Friday night plans are. Well, that’s exactly what Nicki Minaj did.
She asks viewers,” First of all… y’all. Why it’s Friday night and yall in the house? What’s good? Y’all not hanging out?”
Shortly after, Coi Leray joins, and the conversation shifts. Nicki Minaj asks her about her sexuality, and the two open up about their past relationships.
Leray brings shoes on live that Drake gifted to her. Minaj says, “Oh, I’m glad you said that,” then spills the tea on how Drake forgot to send her a gift he claimed he would bring.
As the conversation goes on, Minaj praises Leray and talks about how “No More Parties” is actually one of her favorite songs. Leray lets out a beaming smile as the rap icon continues talking about how she would’ve wanted to do a remix to it because of how much she loved it.
That makes Leray reflect on her come-up, and she opens up about her journey. She shares how she DM’d Nicki Minaj a few years ago and never got a response. But she’s grateful because it meant Minaj saw her talent. She said she really worked hard even through the hate.
“The music industry is a competition,” says Leray.
But, Nicki Minaj cuts her short and drops some gems:

Minaj continues on the live and says, “Y’all have never experienced hate… like the way… this guy right here… me, has it experienced it. So, don’t wish for it.” She said she feels like people have been “nice” and “gentle” with newer artists. But, she wanted to speak up for Leray when she felt like she was “beating up on herself.”
Regardless of the situation or how someone looks, Minaj says if someone has bars, ” It’ll always catch my attention.”
This is probably what got the artists to hop on a track together! They just released a new song together called ” Blick Blick” that has over 2 million views in just under 24 hours.
As the live comes to an end, they express their love for each other. And Leray expresses how genuine Minaj is. After, she thanks her for the interaction via Twitter:
