Hey CelebSecrets4U readers,
Do you remember last year when we brought you exclusive photos and videos from the 5th Annual Stars & Strikes Bowling and Poker Tournament for “A Place Called Home Foundation?” This year, we had the extreme honor to attend again! Stars like Akon, Jason DeRulo, Howie Mandel and Ke$Ha were there for a fun night of bowling and poker to honor the children for APCH.
Stars & Strikes features 34 lanes of bowling action, an exciting, No-Limit All-In Texas Hold’em professional-level poker tournament, DJs, the excitement of the red carpet and more. Over the past five years, proceeds from the event have raised over $500,000.00 and gone on to support APCH’s Bridge to the Future program, providing recreation, field trips, academic tutoring, college preparation and college tours for hundreds of South Central teens, many of whom have gone on to break negative cycles and be the first in their families to attend college.
A Place Called Home has long been a favorite charity of the music industry. With an on-site recording studio, students learn alongside professionals and prepare for careers in the arts and entertainment industries. Red One (producer for Lady Gaga) and Dr. Luke (producer for Katy Perry, Britney Spears and others) are among APCH’s Celebrity Ambassador supporters. Additionally, Coldplay recently performed a benefit concert to benefit APCH, and Ryan Tedder (Singer OneRepublic/Producer for Adele, Beyoncé & more), generously donated much needed funding to save the APCH recording studio during the recent economic downturn.
