Grindr is kicking off 2025 with a bang… literally.
Today (January 30), the world’s most iconic gay dating app has unveiled its unapologetically flirty and fearless new campaign, TAP or BLOCK, starring none other than Troye Sivan!
Fresh off his Something to Give Each Other Tour, the 29-year-old is bringing his signature charm (and internet-famous backup dancers) to a campaign that’s equal parts sexy, cheeky, and hilariously real.

Filmed backstage before the final show of Troye’s tour, TAP or BLOCK taps into the raw, intimate energy of Madonna’s Truth or Dare documentary, serving up a candid and playful take on queer dating culture. The concept? Troye and his dancers dive into a game where they reveal what they’d “tap” (swipe right, say yes, dive in headfirst) and what they’d “block” (hard pass, not today, Satan). From hotel hook-ups to body hair debates, the campaign is a love letter to the wild, wonderful, and sometimes chaotic world of queer dating.
“Dating and hooking up can be complex, sexy, messy, intoxicating, and confusing — I love how Grindr and this campaign celebrate all of this with humor, honesty, and through community,” Troye shares in a statement. “It’s refreshing to show these conversations in an authentic way.”

With creative direction from Grindr and the vision of Juxtapose Studio, TAP or BLOCK is more than just a campaign; it’s a cultural moment. It cements Grindr’s role as a force in shaping queer conversations, amplifying diverse voices, and breaking down stereotypes with the perfect blend of wit and authenticity.
The internet is already buzzing, with fans freaking out over the teaser Troye dropped on socials yesterday. And honestly? Same.
