Hilary Duff brought pop nostalgia, playful games and a little grown-up glam it to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Monday night (March 9), proving her decade-long musical hiatus didn’t dull a single sparkle.
The singer/actress stopped by to promote her first album in 10 years, Luck… or Something, dished on childhood celeb crushes, teased her upcoming Lucky Me Tour, and capped the night with a steamy performance of new single “Roommates.”
Duff’s appearance kicked things off with Jimmy taking the 38-year-old down memory lane — and yes, Lizzie McGuire references were inevitable.

When asked which young performer she idolized, Duff’s answer came fast: the ultimate ’90s twin dream team, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen.
“I had it on VHS, guys. Their twin spy movies? Obsessed,” she laughed. Duff even reminisced about attending Aaron Carter’s birthday party — pre-dating their brief teen romance — and meeting both Olsens. “I remember thinking, ‘I’ve arrived. I’ve made it — both of the Olsen twins are here.’”
Later, when audience members quizzed her on favorite on-screen love interests, she chose Chad Michael Murray’s bleacher-slow-walk from A Cinderella Story over Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) and Paolo (Yani Gellman). Iconic, and very Hilary.

Of course, a Fallon appearance isn’t complete without a little chaos. Duff taught the host her 2007 “With Love” choreography, turning the stage into a mini throwback dance lesson.
Then came Fallon’s Sip & Sing Challenge, in which participants must sing with water in their mouths. Fallon floundered through “Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles, while Duff delivered a melodious — if slightly off-the-rails — rendition of “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette. Things got even funnier when she tried Respect by Aretha Franklin but ended up belting out “Freedom” instead, sending The Roots into stitches.
The grand finale? Questlove identifying “Take On Me” by A-ha performed by Fallon’s house band.
Duff ended the night with a show-stopping performance of “Roommates,” a grown-up romance drama from Luck… or Something. Draped across a leather chair in a gauzy white strapless gown, Duff exuded confidence and sensuality, perfectly embodying the late-night flirtation and emotional tension of the track co-written with Matthew Koma.

Fans were buzzing about the visuals, vocals, and vibes — but the real star of the show was her flawless skin. The secret? A makeup tint that you can score for under $45! Applied by celebrity makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan, Duff’s onstage glow was thanks to the iconic TINGE Tint in the shade Tan Neutral.
Designed for a water- and transfer-resistant finish, the tint delivers medium, buildable coverage with a semi-matte, second-skin effect, perfect for camera-ready looks — even under bright lights or a flowing white gown. Enriched with jojoba oil and macadamia seed oil, cruelty-free and vegan, it blurs imperfections while feeling natural.
Deenihan called it the ultimate “wear-the-white” solution, giving Duff flawless, luminous skin from head to toe. If Hilary’s body glow is any proof, this is the tint every pop star — and beauty lover — will want in their kit.
