Before there were the Kardashian sisters there were the Sanderson Sisters… and baby, THEY ARE BACK!
The Long-awaited sequel to Disney’s 1993 classic, “Hocus Pocus”, is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ in 2022. And don’t worry, Bette Midler (75) Sarah Jessica Parker (56), and Kathy Najimy (64), will be making their return as the iconic and wicked Sanderson Sisters!
In the sequel, “three young women accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world.” They already have us hooked!

There have been years of rumors swirling around a sequel. Most recently, Vinessa Shaw, who played Allison Watts, shared a photo of her posing around a crystal ball with five other original castmates. The photo captioned “Oh, will there be a #2? This time!”
The live-action comedy will begin production this fall, under the direction of Anne Fletcher, who is known for her work on The Proposal and 27 Dresses. The original director and friend to Fletcher, Adam Shankman, will not be directing the project because he is in production on Disenchanted. However, he will remain an executive producer.
Shankman says, “As heartbroken as I am that I won’t be able to direct my friends Bette, Sarah Jessica, and Kathy in what is sure to be nothing short of a major event for Disney+ due to scheduling conflicts, I couldn’t be more pleased to be handing over the reins to Anne, who has brought so much laughter and joy into people’s lives with her previous work.”
