Newbie Julia Wolf is an Italian-American indie-pop artist from Queens, NY. Her team describes her as a prolific lyricist with unique and captivating tones. She began her career on social media, posting snippets of music in 2019, and quickly garnered attention from fans and industry professionals. She creates her own visuals, her work is self written, both in English and Italian, and she self produces; WOLF is a true DIY artist.

To create her new single, the singer was paired with platinum songwriter/producer Jackson Foote of Loote (Demi Lovato, Zara Larsson, Jonas Blue). The result is a brutally honest take on society’s unrealistic expectations of women with WOLF’s haunting alto delivery shining atop Foote’s mellow pop production.

When asked about the song, WOLF expressed that she has “been told [she] can have a ‘resting b*tch face,’ which [she] used to take personally but now [knows] it’s not a negative thing.”

“I’ve learned over the years how being too nice can translate to people taking advantage of you and, growing up especially, I was overly accepting of that behavior… being certain of yourself and finding that power in you to say ‘No’ can also label you as a ‘b*tch.’ In a twisted way it feels like a compliment that I’m doing something right,” she shares.

Foote adds that, “This song is about no longer apologizing for being passionate and committed to YOUR vision and the way you want to do things. Male or female, there is certainly a fine line between being kind and being so kind that people feel like they can treat you however they want to with little repercussions, mistaking kindness for weakness.”
