Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook are officially divorcing.
The ex Big Bang Theory actress and Cook – an equestrian athlete — both announced their divorce this past week after being together for five years and married for three.
The two released a statement to People on Friday (September 3) explaining where the relationship stands. “Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions,” they said. “We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together. There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary.”
Cuoco first met Cook right after her divorce from her ex-husband Ryan Sweeting was finalized. The Flight Attendant actress quickly hit it off with the athlete at a horse show in March 2016 before making their red carpet debut in September 2016. A year later, Cook was down on one knee proposing in November 2017, on Cuoco’s birthday.
In June 2018, the two finally tied the knot in a private ceremony with family and friends in San Diego. It wasn’t until the pandemic hit that the couple took the huge step and moved in together.
In June 2020, the two shared a snap on Instagram to celebrate the 3 year marriage milestone they hit together.

Although details haven’t been revealed on what’s next for the Cook and Cuoco, the two are asking for some privacy. “We have made this decision together through an immense amount of respect and consideration for one another and request that you do the same in understanding that we will not be sharing any additional details or commenting further.”
Cuoco seems to be keeping her focus on work, as she was spotted wrapping up filming with Pete Davidson for their new rom-com, Meet Cute.
