Katy Perry will mark her seventh season as a judge on American Idol. The upcoming season is set to premiere in the spring of 2024.
Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie will join the “Firework” singer on the beloved panel, as Ryan Seacrest will return as host. According to a recent press release, the foursome has a mission,“to help discover America’s next singing sensation.”

The American Idol team continued, “Auditions kick off Wednesday, Aug. 2, with the return of ‘Idol Across America.'” The live virtual nationwide search has been a massive success thus far, as the franchise discovered last season’s winner Iam Tongi.
Those auditioning will be given the opportunity to showcase their talents face-to-face with an “American Idol” producer from anywhere in America.
Until Perry kicks off the highly anticipated season, the hitmaker will be “Waking Up in Vegas.” She has been playing a handful of residency shows at the renowned Theatre of Resorts World Las Vegas. Perry is currently performing and will continue until early November of 2023.
