If garage rock, surf punk, and chaotic coming-of-age energy had a baby, its name would be Sun Room.
Born from the San Diego DIY scene and now riding the wave of sold-out international shows, Netflix syncs (Outer Banks stans, we see you), and serious rockstar momentum, Sun Room is crashing into the spotlight with their newest EP, RITUAL OF CHAOS — and trust us, it’s six tracks of pure, reckless, perfectly unpolished magic.
Frontman Luke Asgian, bassist Max Pinamonti, and guitarist Ashton Minnich have spent the last few years going from house shows that got shut down by cops to headlining iconic venues and opening for the likes of Louis Tomlinson, Inhaler, and Dayglow. Now? They’re owning the stage — and their sound — like never before.
“Ritual of Chaos is tour — it’s being in a rock and roll band. It’s new cities, and shows, and friends, and everything that goes wrong along the way,” Luke tells Celeb Secrets, giving us a peek behind the title and the tornado of energy this new project delivers.
Unlike over-produced pop tracks flooding the internet, RITUAL OF CHAOS was recorded live in the room — no autotune, no fancy tricks. “Everything is so perfect and ‘to the grid’ right now,” Luke says. “I think people miss the imperfections and risks in rock and roll.”
And if there’s one thing Sun Room doesn’t play with, it’s playing it safe.

Kicking off with the punchy, punkish riot “JACKKNIFE,” the band set out to create something festival-worthy — think Glastonbury-level mosh pit magic. “We were trying to write the kind of song you’d hear a crowd go crazy for,” Luke explains. “Something where the crowd sings the riff back.”
Then there’s “SHE’LL MOVE TO LONDON” and the emotional slow-burner “ON FIRE,” showcasing the band’s ability to ride the line between chaos and vulnerability. “‘On Fire’ was meant to convey an emotion… like one of those nights in a busy city when everything is happening all at once and you just want to feel the chaos,” Luke says.
In a surprising pivot, “OSLO, PARIS, LA” brings the band’s first-ever acoustic track to life — a rare moment of stripped-down honesty. “I wrote it on a rainy morning while we were on tour… I wanted it to sound how it was when I wrote it on the porch,” Luke shares. We’re not crying, you are.
The energy ramps right back up with “DON’T CAUSE A RIOT,” a live show staple that was literally made to get the crowd moving, and closes with the anthemic “THE NIGHT’S NOT OVER,” which may or may not be hinting at their next big chapter…
Spoiler: a full-length debut album is coming in 2026. Stay tuned.

Bassist Max Pinamonti says this project is his favorite yet — and not just because it rocks harder than anything they’ve done before.
“There was no strategy or pressure. We were just trying to write good rock songs we’d be excited to hear on the radio,” he shares. And you can hear that freedom in every riff, every lyric, and every moment of controlled chaos on this EP.
The chaos continues this fall with The Jackknife Tour, kicking off September 26 and hitting 24 cities across the U.S. and Canada. “This is the first tour where I don’t feel like there’s any filler songs,” Luke tells us. “Every song is one that I’m stoked to play live.”

Sun Room’s already racked up over 500k social media followers, played hundreds of shows in 24+ countries, and had two songs blow up on Netflix’s Outer Banks — but they’re still just the same guys who’d throw down in a garage and hope nobody called the cops.
Whether it’s a 20,000-person festival in Spain or an impromptu house show, Luke says they’re always chasing that original thrill: “All we can do is make music that excites us. The only music we’ll ever put out is something we’re over-the-top excited for and would listen to ourselves.”
They’re also hard at work on their debut album — and let’s just say, they’re not slowing down. “Our favorite songs yet. We’ve been writing non-stop. I’ve driven myself mad,” Luke admits with a laugh.

Here’s your exclusive behind-the-scenes scoop: the RITUAL OF CHAOS recording sessions were pure mayhem — in the best way. “A couple of the producers had dogs and kids, so there were often dogs on our laps or little kids running around and banging on the drums,” Luke spills. “It made it so fun.”
If you’re into fuzzy guitars, chaotic good energy, and songs that sound like long summer nights before everything fades, then Sun Room is about to be your new obsession.
