Morgan Evans Supports Wife Kelsea Ballerini at the 2021 CMT Artists of The Year Ceremony (Exclusive)

Australian heartthrob Morgan Evans took to the black carpet at the 2021 CMT Artist of The Year Ceremony on Wednesday, October 13 to show his support for his wife and honoree Kelsea Ballerini.

The “Love Is Real” singer stepped away from performing with Brett Eldredge on his Good Day 2021 Tour to present the prestigious award to his multi-platinum wife and to introduce her heartwarming performance with the Jonas Brothers.

“I am here holding down the family fort tonight,” shares Evans to Celeb Secrets Country reporter Juliet Schroder on the carpet ahead of the star-studded affair. “She’s on the road opening up for a band called the Jonas Brothers. I get to be a fan in private all the time, and tonight I get to be a fan in public,” he gushed over his wife’s success.

However, the hitmaker also confessed in confidence that he is a Jonas Brothers fanatic. “I think I missed their earlier stuff, but I love their new stuff. Like “Sucker” and now seeing their shows, I’m like ‘I get it,’” he laughed.

He continued to reveal how special it is to see Ballerini live out her dream with the award-winning boyband. Although, it was the number of country music fans that make up the JB community that left the Aussie artist dead in his tracks. “She’s killing it! I think it’s cool watching their fans watch Kelsea. It’s cool to see how many country music fans there are in that Jonas Brothers kind of family,” he concluded.

While the “Peter Pan” songstress couldn’t bring the heat to Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center like the other honorees – she still left her loyal fan base and husband with goosebumps with her chilling rendition of “With A Little Help From My Friends” by The Beatles.

To emphasize her pop-country sound, she called in her tour-mates – Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Kevin Jonas to help elevate her career milestone performance, which aired live from Franklin Tennessee’s FirstBank Amphitheater.

When the Coronavirus pandemic impacted the music industry, Ballerini kept the positive momentum up and continued to push the boundaries of traditional country. While becoming hyper-active on social media, she generated a massive following. Her social recognition quickly turned into an adoring fan base. Within a blink of an eye, she found herself co-hosting the 2021 CMT Music Awards alongside Kane Brown, scored “CMT Performance of the Year,” released her self-titled fourth studio album, and collaborated with notable names like Kenny Chesney and Halsey.

As Ballerini made her mark on the industry, her husband was busy putting pen to paper to create his six-track collection, Country And The Coast Side A – which will drop on October 29. To go along with his chart-topping single “Love Is Real,” the budding artist recently released “Sing-Along Drink Along.”

The toe-tapping melody was born in the midst of the global pandemic when the internet became a negative and toxic space. “I spent too much of my ‘time off on the Internet reading all the awful things people were saying to each other,” says the breakthrough star about his latest release. “With each awful thing I read, the more I realized how much we were all missing live music. I personally missed it for a lot of reasons, but one of them was the community. It doesn’t matter where you come from, and it doesn’t matter where you’re going, all that matters is you’re there, together.”

The relatable songwriter explained to CS Country that music-goers can always find common ground at a live concert. “At a show, you can always find some type of common ground – a song you can sing along to and drink you can drink along to,” he adds with a beaming smile on his face.

Therefore, when the world gave Evans the green-light to bust out his guitar and interact with fans live and in person – he jumped on the opportunity to tour with the “Good Day” artist, Brett Eldredge.

Although Evans recently embarked on the tour, he finds himself already building a loyal relationship with the Chicagoland native out on the road. “We are 12 shows in and Man, I love that guy,” he says, talking about Eldredge. “I feel like we are great mates already. The second half of the tour will be even more fun. I was ready for how excited I was to play, but I wasn’t ready for how excited the people coming to the show were going to be. That exchange of energy has been really special.”

Country And The Coast Side A is now available to pre-order, and music fans can purchase tickets to see the gifted singer-songwriter perform his latest material live on the Good Day Tour 2021.
