Danish American pop-punk trio New Politics have shared their quirky official music video for new single “Girl Crush.” The video, directed by Kevin “KJ” Johnson, tells the cautionary tale of what can happen when you’re desperate for love, as lead singer David Boyd gets an amazing new girlfriend, but perhaps was just a little too desperate this time…Check out the lighthearted video in full for the twist!
“Girl Crush” is the next single from New Politics’ third full-length album Vikings, released this past August via DCD2 Records/Warner Bros. Records. Vikings is the follow-up to the band’s A Bad Girl in Harlem, which spawned the commercial knockout, “Harlem,” landing on multiple trailers for the film Frozen as well as garnering placements for “America’s Got Talent,” Microsoft, and Taco Bell.
New Politics – comprising David Boyd [lead vocals, guitar] and Søren Hansen [bass, guitar, keys, programming] who came to Brooklyn via Denmark, and NY native Louis Vecchio [drums] – just wrapped a huge fall co-headline tour with Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness that saw them play countless sold out shows across the U.S., and will be playing a handful of radio shows throughout the end of the year.
