3. The live debut performance of the song, “Jealousy, Jealousy.”
The concert special gave us the opportunity to see a few deep cuts from the album performed live for the first time. Rodrigo’s debut performance of her song, “jealousy, jealousy,” was absolutely electric! In a 360 camera shot, the singer performs as attendees dance on the dance floor behind her.
The bridge of the song is when the performance really takes off. The dancers climb onto the stage and surround the singer in a circle. She tries to fend them off as they grab onto her and engulf her into the crowd. This act could signify how her jealousy of others can consume her, as the song details. In the lyrics, she sings, “Co-comparison is killing me slowly,” she continues. “I’m so sick of myself, I’d rather be, rather be…anyone, anyone else. My jealousy, jealousy started following me.”
