If there’s one thing we’ve learned covering Percy Jackson premieres, it’s this: the gods do not do anything halfway. In 2023 Disney+ transformed The Met into a demigod playground for Season 1… and this year? They went full Poseidon-core.
To celebrate Percy Jackson and the Olympians returning for Season 2 — inspired by The Sea of Monsters — Disney+ and Hulu rolled out an ocean-blue carpet at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, complete with a towering tentacle that could’ve been lifted straight out of Clarisse’s worst nightmares. And yes, it moved, but relax… no actual monsters were harmed in the making of this premiere.

Series stars Walker Scobell (Percy), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth), Aryan Simhadri (Grover), Charlie Bushnell (Luke), Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse), Daniel Diemer (Tyson) and more arrived making tidal-wave-level entrances that made the blue carpet fit for demigods only, while fan-favorite guest stars like Jason Mantzoukas, Timothy Simons, Glynn Turman, Courtney B. Vance, Andra Day, Virginia Kull, Tamara Smart and others kept the carpet buzzing with Olympus-level star power.
Once we got settled for the debut screening, the energy in the room felt like campfire night at Camp Half-Blood… just with more celebrities and less strawberry fields.
We’re keeping this spoiler-free because Percy would blast us with a water cannon if we didn’t — but here’s what we can say about the season two premiere. The first episode kicks off with one of Percy’s darker nightmares, setting a moodier tone that teases just how high-stakes this season will be. All your favorites are back with a new friend joining the quest. His name is Tyson, and he’s a lovable cyclops with a heart as big as his… well, everything.
Season 2 wastes no time diving into the action. Expect bigger adventures, heavier drama, and a whole lot more monsters lurking beneath the water. It also shows what Percy is willing to fight for, and we’re so excited to see his growth throughout these next few episodes.

The moment the credits rolled, guests were guided upstairs where the museum had been transformed into the most immersive Percy Jackson after-party we’ve ever seen. TBH, it looked like the gods got a party planner.
Stepping inside the first room felt like plunging into Poseidon’s personal VIP lounge. Ocean-blue lighting washed over the space, while giant tentacles wrapped around columns, swaying with a rhythm that made you wonder if you should be dancing or dodging. A DJ spun remixes that even Dionysus would approve of, the food spread looked like a banquet straight from Olympus, and the cast mingled like the most charismatic cabin counselors you’ve ever met.
Across the hall, guests entered a full Camp Half-Blood-themed room, complete with show costumes, cabin-style décor, and a Photo Booth offering official “Camp Half-Blood portraits.” If you didn’t pose with the orange tee… did you even go?

ANDRA DAY, WALKER SCOBELL
Between the returning cast, the introduction of Tyson, higher stakes at Camp Half-Blood, and a storyline ripped straight from one of the most beloved books in the series, Season 2 is shaping up to be a monster of a season (pun very much intended).
And the hype doesn’t end there. Beginning TOMORROW, December 10, fans will be able to dive into Percy’s world with a two episode premiere on Disney+ and Hulu, with new episodes every Wednesday, In addition, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians official podcast will drop a new episode each week, giving fans the opportunity to listen to expert commentary on their favorite show.
