With less than one week until its big reveal on Disney+, the cast and crew of Percy Jackson and the Olympians have officially landed in the Big Apple to promote their highly-anticipated series.
Serving as a key location in the Percy Jackson story, it was only appropriate that Disney Branded Television shut down the Metropolitan Museum of Art, aka The Met, on the Upper East Side for the show’s world premiere on Wednesday (December 13).
Stars Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), and Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood) were all on hand posing for photos on the red carpet, and were joined by fellow cast members Adam Copeland, Jason Mantzoukas, Timothy Omundson, Suzanne Cryer, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Olivea Morton, Azriel Dalman, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, and Timm Sharp. Additionally, the creative team, including executive producer and author of the book series, Rick Riordan, executive producer and co-creator Jonathan E. Steinberg, executive producers Dan Shotz, Rebecca Riordan, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, D.J. Goldberg, Jeremy Bell, Jim Rowe, Anders Engstrom, Craig Silverstein, and co-executive producer Joe Tracz came together to celebrate all of their hard work at the invite-only event.

With a string orchestra performing covers of today’s biggest hits to set the vibe, opening remarks were made by Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television; Karey Burke, president, 20th Television; Rick Riordan and Rebecca Riordan as they showed their gratitude for the cast, crew and everyone in attendance for supporting their latest project. They also revealed that the debut episode will simultaneously drop on both Disney+ AND Hulu next Wednesday (December 20), for more fans to learn more about Percy Jackson and his story.
Following the two-episode screening, guests (including the Celeb Secrets gals) were transported into the world of Percy Jackson thanks to a stunning venue filled with some of the most iconic pieces in visual art, a buffet featuring a wide variety of foods that were inspired by the Greek gods mentioned in the series, themed drinks, photo booths and even a portrait station where you could be transformed into your favorite god. It was truly a night to remember!

Based on Disney Hyperion’s best-selling book series by award-winning author Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows Percy Jackson on a dangerous quest. Outrunning monsters and outwitting gods, he must journey across America to return Zeus’ master bolt and stop an all-out war. After losing his mother, Percy is sheltered at Camp Half-Blood, a sanctuary for demigod children. He must prove himself and confront his origins once he discovers he too is a demigod, and will take off into the perils of pursuing enemies in search of the Underworld. With the help of his quest mates Annabeth and Grover, Percy’s journey will lead him closer to the answers he seeks: how to fit into a world where he feels out of place, if he’ll ever see his mother again, and if he can ever find out who he’s destined to be.
