Congrats, Rainey Qualley!
The Cingle Records’ flagship artist was announced as one of CMT’s “Next Women of Country,” the prestigious franchise showcasing signed and unsigned female artists across CMT platforms and at NextWomen.CMT.com yesterday (November 4) at Music City Winery in Nashville.
Since its launch in January 2013, several alumnae — Brandy Clark, Kelsea Ballerini, Maddie & Tae, Ashley Monroe, Kacey Musgraves, Cassadee Pope and others — have found success ranging from commercial and critical acclaim to chart-topping singles and high-profile award nominations.
“CMT has been incredibly supportive from the very start, and I can’t thank them enough for giving me this unbelievable opportunity,” said Rainey. “To be included in the same group with all of this talent is amazing, and I’m really looking forward to what this next year brings!”
This has been a big year for Qualley who released her debut TURN DOWN THE LIGHTS EP a few months ago and made her debut on the revered Opry stage. The dynamic artist has opened for several music legends, including Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams Jr. and Dave Mason. Rainey co-wrote all seven of the songs on the EP, including her debut single, “Me And Johnny Cash.”
